M'sian diva Siti's wedding trumps Will and Kate's

Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) – TV ratings from the April 29 live telecast of the British Royal Wedding on Malaysian channels, Astro and NTV7, could not match that of local diva Siti Nurhaliza’s wedding.

Siti’s wedding to Datuk K, aired live over TV3 in August 2006, captured about three million viewers, three times more the local viewership of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding aired over NTV 7 (700,000 viewers peaking to 1,000,000).

Siti’s wedding captured 2.9 million viewers and was the most watched programme across all local TV channels.

These were confirmed in figures released by Aegis Malaysia’s Monthly Media Update using Nielsen Malaysia’s statistics.
